How are we going to build company structures in the future ?

I must admit it is not my normal crowd but it was a thrill non the less. They had 4 speakers that I really enjoyed hearing: Keld Jersild Olsen from HP on "green it", Preben Mejer from Innovation Lab, Svend Olling the responsible for cop15 - the climate conference next year in Copenhagen and Steen Hildebrandt, professor and writer.
Steen Hildebrandt closed a lot of stuff for me with his talk about how companies should be taught how to build a leadership and organisational system that is sustainable for the future of the business as the well as the employees and the planet.
So someone is going to have to start teaching these companies on how to work with a triple line of figures in their annual reports.
Only measuring companies by "money" is not valuable anymore, maybe for the shareholders, but not for the employees and especially not for nature.
So a lot of social innovation within the companies has to take place. How can we sustain growth and not ruin our planet at the same time ? How are we going to teach this to companies ?
I think that Michael Braungart, co-author of the cradle to cradle book told me some of the answer at the Cradle to Cradle conference in Copenhagen this monday. We really have to start doing business that gives nurtrients back to nature. All the ressources that goes into production by and of a company needs to be sustained. Somehow I think it's a huge part of the solution. And I think that companies are actually the ones that are going to pull this development.
I am going to help as much as I can by supporting the companies that are actually doing things right ! and companies who are sustaining the environment instead of breaking it down - and guess what. We need more of those companies and I think there's a lot of money to be made out there by actually embracing new company structures and new ways of doing business.
